About the University

Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) is a premier fisheries university established in Tamil Nadu dedicated to providing quality higher education and research in the field of fisheries and allied sciences.

The university was established with the vision of developing human resources for the fisheries sector, promoting research and development in fisheries science and technology, and supporting the fishing community of Tamil Nadu.

Located in Nagapattinam, the university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs across 4 colleges spread across Tamil Nadu, covering all major aspects of fisheries education.
